Izzy is getting excited for her show on Monday. She is enjoying all her dance classes, but especially loves tap. A girl after my own heart! She loves getting up in front of a crowd and performing. She has an amazing amount of confidence and spunk, and each time I watch her I'm reminded of how quickly she is growing into a young lady. Time flies.

Don't Mess with Cooper
Cooper was officially the toughest wrestler at practice on Thursday! You should have seen the other guy :)
It was great to see Dylan at one of his practices, and I'm really looking forward to his first match. I cheered him on, much to the dismay of a dad sitting next to me. He was not cheering for his son, and was quick to let me know that there is no cheering in wrestling. No cheering in wrestling?? I've been to countless wrestling matches in my day, and I clearly remember cheering. A lot of it. So I cheered even louder. Mostly to annoy him, but also because I think all kids need to hear encouragement. Whether we're at swimming lessons, a school performance, or even doing homework...my kids can always count on me cheering for them!

Wrestling
Dylan started wrestling today! Luke got some good footage of him working out. I have a feeling he'll be sore tomorrow, but he absolutely loved it and can't wait to go again. (He's in a red t-shirt and black shorts)
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog, right? Sorry...couldn't resist the North Cache reference :)

"Mom, this is a very special night."
Look at that smile! Dylan has been hoping to meet Clutch in person for quite some time--he sleeps with his stuffed version every night. He was literally shaking when he met him tonight. He couldn't stop smiling, and his cheeks were bright red during the entire game. It was priceless! At one point I looked at him and asked, "if you had to choose between Clutch and Bear, you'd still pick Bear, right?" He looked back at me and shrugged with a guilty smile on his face that answered my question. Ouch. Anyway, it was a night he won't soon forget, and being able to make your child's wish come true is a splendid feeling. It's not a night Luke or I will soon forget, either!

Dylan is officially six years old! He had a great birthday, and was able to have a party with some of his favorite pals. Boys are great--I didn't plan a single thing. They just played, ate pizza, and opened presents. So easy!
The day after Dylan's birthday, the four of us kicked off Christmas by going downtown for dinner at CPK, to temple square to see the lights, and a sleepover at the Downtown Marriot. There was a lot of bed jumping and swimming, as well as lots of snacks and silliness. It was so much fun that we are going to make it a family tradition. Above is a picture of Izzy and Dylan in front of Craig and Heather's tree at The Gateway before dinner--it was so beautiful!
Christmas finally came, and it looked a little like this:
But mostly like this:
Which I guess means Santa did a pretty good job this year.
So here we are in 2010. 2009 brought us joys and heartaches, love and laughter. I hope the new year brings good health and happiness to all of you. Happy New Year!
