Luke shaved his head.
That's about it. We are headed to the lake for a few days, so you'll have to wait for pictures. I'll post on Sunday when we get home!

Seriously?
Summertime
Luke took the day off last Thursday, so we spent the afternoon at the pool. Isabelle went down the waterslide all by herself, and swam to the end of the pool. We were so proud of her! Dylan had a great time, too. He loved the slide, and practiced kicking and blowing bubbles. It was nice to relax and feel the sunshine on our shoulders. It's just what we needed!

Happy birthday, Rylen!
Rylen-
It sounds like you had a happy birthday yesterday! We love you, and hope you have a great time being six years old! Here is a fun recipe you can make with your mom:
It sounds like you had a happy birthday yesterday! We love you, and hope you have a great time being six years old! Here is a fun recipe you can make with your mom:
(recipe from kraftfoods.com)
4 clear plastic cups
1 package (4 serving size) blue jell-o
3/4 C boiling water
1/2 C cold water and ice cubes
1/2 C chopped strawberries (I'm sure you can use whatever fruit you like)
4 swedish fish
Stir the boiling water into the jell-o for at least two minutes. Add the water and ice cubes and stir until the jell-o is slightly thick. Remove any unmelted ice. If the jell-o is still thin, put it in the fridge until is thickens a little.
Place some fruit on the bottom of each cup, then pour the thickened jell-o over it. Place the fish in the middle of the cup.
Put them in the fridge, and they should be ready to eat in an hour!

I know I already posted about this site, but I absolutely love it! For all you moms out there, See Jane Work has the perfect planner. Just go to the site (link is in the previous post), and click on "2008 Mom Agendas Are Here". Not only does it include your months at a glance, but breaks down yours weeks with spaces for each of your kids. Awesome! Click here to see what the pages look like. It doesn't hurt that it comes in various sizes and a lot of cute colors, either.

Swimming Lessons
Monday was the first day of swimming lessons. It is so much fun to sit by the pool and watch the kids. The country club where they take lessons is so pretty, and sitting by the pool is very relaxing. It doesn't hurt to have a bunch of country-clubbers to watch, either. There's not many things I enjoy more than a good people-watching session, and I haven't been dissapointed yet! The only people I watched yesterday, however, were the kids. Dylan was looking pretty slick in my sunglasses:
He looks really relaxed in that picture due to the fact that it was not during his lesson. He even looks somewhat at ease in the next picture:
Of course, this was pre-getting in the water. Things slowly started to go downhill after he got wet and had to get out of the pool to jump back in. There was a brief moment that I thought his teeth were going to break because they were chattering so hard:
The following picture illustrates how excited he was to turn over and practice kicking:
He really did do a great job, and today was better than yesterday. I am hoping tomorrow will be even better.
Of course, swimming lessons are old news to the girls. They jumped right in where they left off last year, and didn't want to get out of the pool:

Happy birthday, Daken!
We hope you have a great birthday today! Here are a list of some interesting things that happened on your birthday:
1865 The American Civil War ended.
1935 Babe Ruth retired.
1967 The Beatles released Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band. The album topped Billboard's charts for 15 weeks!
1997 Timothy McVeigh was convicted for the Oklahoma City bombing.
Also, ten years ago today, the number one album in the country was "Spice" by the Spice Girls. I think that this fact alone goes to show that you and music have both come a long way!
