Shiver me timbers!

Today was pirate day at Izzy's school. As you can plainly see, she is not animated at all.

Girl's Day!

While the boys were busy working, the girls had a little fun of their own. Izzy and I had a great day! First we had bagels:
Then we went to the salon and had our toes done:

The employees at the salon liked Izzy so much, they gave her a free manicure to go with her pretty toes:

How cute are we?
Next month, I get to take Dylan on a date, and Luke gets Izzy to himself for a day. It will be hard to beat hanging out with the Bear and playing football at a professional indoor arena, but I will try! I'll be excited to see what Luke has up his sleeve for Isabelle, as well. I think we might have the best kids ever, and I'm not just saying it because I'm their mom! (Well, maybe I'm a little biased, but you know what I mean!)

Daddy and Dylan's Day

Dylan is at work with Luke today. He was so excited when they got ready to leave! They are going to a school, and then to the Energy Solutions Arena (it's still the Delta Center to me). The arena football floor is set up, and Dylan took his Blaze football so he and Luke can play. I really wish you could have seen his face last night when Luke told him he could go. It's a miracle that he slept! I actually just got a text message from Luke that says: "He is six foot tall and bullet proof right now." If that doesn't sum it up, I don't know what will.

DWT

Luke sent me an interesting article about people who text message while driving. He and I have had several conversations about this subject, and I'm not going to lie--I hate it! Drivers just don't pay attention. A car in front of you will start going really slow, and when you pass them, there they are, texting away. I have seen a lot of near accidents due to people texting, dialing phone numbers, and even jotting down some notes or a phone number while driving. Do people not realize they are in a vehicle? That could kill people? There are enough bad drivers that are paying attention! The only other thing that bugs me as much as driving while texting are those stupid phones that permanantly attach to a person's ear. All the sudden someone is talking to you at the grocery store and even though you don't know who they are, you try to be polite and respond. Then, they look at you like you are crazy, and as they walk away, you realize they are talking to someone on the phone. Most of the time, I can't see the phone, and I wonder if they are talking to themselves. Does anyone remember the days when people who walked around talking to themselves was an oddity? A reason to be alarmed? Anyway, enough ranting. Check out this article and see if you agree that phones in general are making our society a bunch of reckless drivers. http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Insurance/InsureYourCar/ShouldDrivingWhileTextingBeACrime.aspx

Exhaust

Anyone who knows me understands the fact that bathroom humor is not funny to me. Nothing about the bathroom is remotely amusing--just ask Hope. She can tell you. However, this is funny, so even though it is slightly bathroom-esque, I will share.
I was walking down the hall when I heard what I thought was the unmistakable sound of a whoopie cushion. I stopped, stood there for a couple seconds, then slowly backed up until I was looking into the bathroom. Isabelle, sitting, looked up at me with a dismissive smile. Then she shrugged her shoulders, giggled, and said, "Sorry Mom. It was just my exhaust".

and we went to lunch with friends.

Too much fun!

Spring!

I think spring might finally be here. I know the weather is always unpredictable this time of year, but every time it is warm, then snowy, then warm, then snowy, it really makes me crazy! This was a quasi-warm day we spent throwing the football around and playing a little hop-scotch.

Getting started

I have a few favorite blogs, but haven't really thought of having my own. That is, until I tried to comment on an entry that my friend Elizabeth posted. It was too cute not to, and apparently I have to have my own account to be able to! So, here goes nothing. If for no other reason, it will be fun to post pictures and be able to let my family know what we're up to. A little newsletter on the web, if you will.
